Για το Μουσείο Μπενάκη ο χρόνος είναι μια έννοια σχετική, επειδή στη λογική που διέπει το σκεπτικό του συνυφαίνονται, νομοτελειακά θα τολμούσα να πω, το παρελθόν και το παρόν με το νόημα του μέλλοντος. Το ίδιο θα έλεγα για το σχετικό επίσης αντίβαρο της έννοιας του χώρου, μια και το γεωγραφικό ανάπτυγμα του μουσειακού περιεχομένου αγκαλιάζει ισότιμα την τωρινή ιστορική τοπική πραγματικότητα με την ευρωπαϊκή της διάσταση και την οικουμενική της προοπτική.
