Heraclitus (c. 535 BC), son of Bloson of Ephesus, probably came of royal blood, was a pre-Socratic Ionian Greek philosopher. Known for his doctrine of change being central to the universe and for the establishing the term 'Logos' in Western philosophy, is recorded as having written a single book "On Nature", divided into three discourses, one on the universe, another on politics and a third on theology. Ο τόμος 46 στην σειρά του Βερολίνου της συλλογής των βυζαντινών ιστορικών πηγών γνωστής ως Corpus Fontium Historiae Byzantinae δημοσιεύει τα Χρονικά Παρεκβόλαια, ένα ανώνυμο ελληνικό χρονικό, το οποίο σώζεται στα φύλλα 17-32 του υπ' αριθμόν 1889 ελληνικού κώδικα της Αποστολικής Βιβλιοθήκης του Βατικανού. Ο τόμος παρουσιάζει τα Χρονικά Παρεκβόλαια ως πρωτότυπη σύνθεση, η οποία χρησίμευσε ως οδηγός πηγών (Leitquelle) και ως πρότυπο εργασίας (Arbeitsexemplar) για την Σύνοψη Χρονική, ένα επίσης -και περίπου- ανώνυμο χρονικό, το οποίο καλύπτει το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του υπ' αριθμόν...
