Die Personifikation von 'Olympia' besass die Gestalt einer hubschen jungen Frau mit ausdrucksvollen Augen, griechischer Nase und einem kleinen Mund mit geschurzten Lippen. Ihr langes, in schonen Wellen auf den Rucken herabfallendes Haar, war im Nacken zusammengenommen. In dieser Gestalt erscheint sie auf einem Munzbild der Stadt Elis aus dem Jahr 364 v. Chr. Vor ihrem Kopf ist ihr Name ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ beigeschrieben. Die Schonheit der Gestalt der Olympia auf den Munzen entspricht der landschaftlichen Schonheit des Heiligtums. Olimpia se personifico bajo la forma de una mujer muy hermosa, con bonitos ojos, nariz griega y una boca pequepa con labios de encaje. La larga cabellera, con hermosas ondas, la llevaba recogida en la nuca. Asv aparece representada en una moneda de Elide en el 364 a.C. En el fondo de la moneda aparece grabado su nombre delante de la cara: OLIMPIA. La belleza de la Olimpia de la moneda es analoga a la del lugar: bajos montes con pinares, pequepas llanuras con olivos y vipas, cipreses con puntas verde oscuro componen el paisaje cerca de la confluencia de los rvos Alfeo y Clad...

Olimpia era raffigurata come una splendida donna dai begli occhi, naso greco e bocca piccola con labbra ben disegnate. Aveva lunghi capelli ondulati acconciati all'indietro, raccolti sulla nuca.
