Gonur was the most important city in the kingdom of Margiana in Central Asia, founded by Indo-Iranian tribes whose religion, Iranian paganism, formed the basis for the ancient eastern religion of Zoroastrism. The subject of the study is three Roman provincial coin hoards, which were unearthed during excavations conducted by the Univercity of Thessalonike at the site of Dion in Macedonia in the years 1998, 1999 and 2000, respectively. The present volume is complementary to volume Ia, entitled "Inscriptions from Palaestina Tertia: The Greek Inscriptions from Ghor es-Safi (Byzantine Zoom)" and published in 2005, which contained 321 inscribed funerary stelae from this area (and another 20 bearing only symbols).
