Η έκδοση συνοδεύει την αναδρομική έκθεση του εικαστικού καλλιτέχνη Χρήστου Τζίβελου (1949-1995) στο Μουσείο Μπενάκη. Παρουσιάζει εν συνόλω το γλυπτικό έργο του Τζίβελου από τη δεκαετία του ’70 μέχρι και τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του ’90, μαζί με αρχειακό υλικό, άγνωστα σχέδια και φωτογραφικά ντοκουμέντα από εγκαταστάσεις που είχε πραγματοποιήσει στην Ελλάδα, στην Ιταλία, στη Γαλλία, στην Αυστραλία, και στις ΗΠΑ.

Σημαντικές πτυχές της νεώτερης και σύγχρονης εικαστικής δημιουργίας, που είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένες με την έννοια του τόπου και τη σημασία του ως πεδίου αισθητικής, καλλιτεχνικής και ευρύτερα πολιτισμικής αναζήτησης, θα παρουσιαστούν στην έκθεση "Genii Loci. Τα έργα της Λέας Ρουσοπούλου έχουν έντονη προσωπικότητα και μαγνητίζουν το βλέμμα του θεατή, όσο κι αν είναι φτιαγμένα με ελάχιστα μέσα και με λιτή, λακωνική σύνθεση. Είτε είναι τοποθετημένα σε στήλες, όπως τα περισσότερα άλλα έργα της τα τελευταία χρόνια, είτε όχι, είναι συνθέσεις που αναδύουν μια κάθετη ανοδική τάση, μια αίσθηση καλοζυγιασμένης ισορροπίας. Στον κατάλογο αυτό περιλαμβάνονται όλα τα γλυπτά που εκτίθενται στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο στην Αθήνα. Τα λήμματα του καταλόγου, συμπληρωμένα με τη βασική για κάθε λήμμα βιβλιογραφία, γραμμένα με τρόπο σαφή και εύληπτο, δεν απευθύνονται μόνο στους ειδικούς αλλά και στο ευρύτερο αναγνωστικό κοινό. Για τους μη ειδικούς χρήσιμη είναι η σύντομη εισαγωγή, γιατί ο αναγνώστης αποκτά μέσα απ' αυτή μια γενική εικόνα της αρχαίας ελληνικής γλυπτικής από την αρχαϊκή εποχή έως το τέλος της αρχαιότητας.
