Πασχάλης Μιχαήλ
Ο Μιχαήλ Πασχάλης είναι Καθηγητής Κλασικής Φιλολογίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης. Έχει συγγράψει τη μονογραφία "Virgil’s Aeneid: Semantic Relations and Proper Names" (Οξφόρδη 1997) και πολλές μελέτες για τη λογοτεχνία της ελληνιστικής εποχής, των κλασικών ρωμαϊκών χρόνων και της ύστερης αρχαιότητας. Έχει εκδώσει τρεις τόμους για την ελληνορωμαϊκή ποίηση (επική, λυρική, βουκολική) και έχει συνεπιμεληθεί πέντε τόμους πρακτικών των διεθνών συνεδρίων RICAN για το αρχαίο μυθιστόρημα, στη σειρά Ancient Narrative Supplementa. Έχει δημοσιεύσει μελέτες για την Κρητική Αναγέννηση και τον ρόλο των Ακαδημιών, και έχει συνεπιμεληθεί τα πρακτικά διεθνούς συνεδρίου για τον Ερωτόκριτο. Το έργο του περιλαμβάνει επίσης μελέτες για τους παρακάτω συγγραφείς: Τζιοβάνι Μποκάτσιο, Τορκουάτο Τάσσο, Βιτσέντζο Κορνάρο, Γεώργιο Χορτάτση, Αδαμάντιο Κοραή, Διονύσιο Σολωμό, Ανδρέα Κάλβο, Αλέξανδρο Δουμά, Αλέξανδρο Ρίζο Ραγκαβή, Γκυστάβ Φλωμπέρ, Εμμανουήλ Ροΐδη, Τόμας Χάρντυ, Γεώργιο Βιζυηνό, Αλέξανδρο Παπαδιαμάντη, Κ. Π. Καβάφη, Νίκο Καζαντζάκη, Γιώργο Σεφέρη, Παντελή Πρεβελάκη. Στο πλαίσιο της έρευνάς του για το νεοελληνικό μυθιστόρημα εντάσσεται το υπό έκδοση βιβλίο του για τα "κρητικά" μυθιστορήματα του Καζαντζάκη.
