Το Φωτογραφικό Κέντρο Σκοπέλου είναι ο πρώτος οργανωμένος περιφερειακός θεσμός στη χώρα μας αφιερωμένος στη φωτογραφία. Στην εξέλιξη της πορείας του έχει διαμορφώσει ένα σαφή ευρωπαϊκό προσανατολισμό, εγγράφοντας έτσι την Ελλάδα και τη Σκόπελο στο διεθνές φωτογραφικό σκηνικό. This publication, and the edited version of the survey exhibition Image & Icon: The New Greek Photography which it accompanies at Ottawa's Karsh-Masson Gallery, represent two more Iinks in a chain stretching back to 1994, when the Greek Ministry of Culture first took cognisance of the burgeoning photographic medium.
