This publication, and the edited version of the survey exhibition Image & Icon: The New Greek Photography which it accompanies at Ottawa's Karsh-Masson Gallery, represent two more Iinks in a chain stretching back to 1994, when the Greek Ministry of Culture first took cognisance of the burgeoning photographic medium. Hommes et femmes d'Epire, ils ont ete un modele d'amour desinteresse de la patrie et sont porteurs de vertus rares, et cela a un point reellement etonnant.
