When Assembly of Women was first staged in 392 B.C. , 12 years had already gone by since the end of the peloponnesian war, but Athenians had still not recovered from its disastrous consequences! It was clear throughout those years that people werw in need of a change! This gave Aristophanes the idea for a new comedy, which was once more based on women! For despite their concervatism, due to their practical way of thinking, women are capable of coming up with great -if not outrageous- ideas for resolving difficult situations!
