Στον κατάλογο αυτό περιλαμβάνονται όλα τα γλυπτά που εκτίθενται στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο στην Αθήνα. Τα λήμματα του καταλόγου, συμπληρωμένα με τη βασική για κάθε λήμμα βιβλιογραφία, γραμμένα με τρόπο σαφή και εύληπτο, δεν απευθύνονται μόνο στους ειδικούς αλλά και στο ευρύτερο αναγνωστικό κοινό. Για τους μη ειδικούς χρήσιμη είναι η σύντομη εισαγωγή, γιατί ο αναγνώστης αποκτά μέσα απ' αυτή μια γενική εικόνα της αρχαίας ελληνικής γλυπτικής από την αρχαϊκή εποχή έως το τέλος της αρχαιότητας.

Η έκθεση "Σπήλαιο Ανδρίτσας - Μοιραίο Καταφύγιο" έχει στόχο να παρουσιάσει στο κοινό με έναν αφαιρετικά βιωματικό τρόπο το εύρημα του σπηλαιοβαράθρου Ανδρίτσας, τονίζοντας τον πλούτο και τη σπουδαιότητα του ευρήματος, το οποίο αποτελεί ένα σπάνιο κλειστό αρχαιολογικό σύνολο, και την τραγικότητα του γεγονότος. Με το αρχαιολογικό υλικό που ανασύρθηκε από το σπήλαιο, δείγμα μικρό αλλά χαρακτηριστικό των ευρημάτων, και με τις ατμοσφαιρικές φωτογραφίες, επιχειρούμε να φέρουμε στο φως εικόνες αυτής της εκπληκτικής μαρτυρίας και να ανασυνθέσουμε την ιστορία που αφηγούνται τα ίδια...

Μια από τις γοητευτικότερες περιπέτειες του πολιτισμού είναι εκείνη της γραφής. Πώς δηλαδή ο λόγος έγινε γράμμα και το γράμμα έκφραση, νόημα, συναίσθημα, μνήμη. Και όλα αυτά αποτυπωμένα στην πέτρα, τον πηλό, το ξύλο και ύστερα στον πάπυρο, την περγαμηνή, το χαρτί και σήμερα στους υπολογιστές και το διαδίκτυο, έτσι ώστε να συγκροτούν εκδόσεις, δηλαδή βιβλία. The exhibition "Icons of the Orthodox Communities of Albania: Collection of the National Museum of Medieval Art, Korce" brings icons from our neighbour to Greece for the first time. Αγαπητοί συνάδελφοι, κυρίες και κύριοι, ως προς τον προβληματισμό του σεμιναρίου με θέμα την ανάδειξη και αξιοποίηση της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, το οποίο οργανώθηκε από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού στο πλαίσιο της τέταρτης Ελληνικής Προεδρίας στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση, θα ήθελα να επισημάνω δυο-τρία σημεία από όσα πολύ ενδιαφέροντα ακούστηκαν τις μέρες αυτές, και να διατυπώσω, αν μου επιτρέπετε, κάποιες προσωπικές σκέψεις.
